(Miami, FL) -- A new tropical storm has formed out in the Atlantic. The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Grace formed early this morning about 400 miles east of the Leeward Islands and is moving westward at 22 mph with 40-mile-an-hour winds.
Tropical storm warnings are in effect in Antigua, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Forecasters predict that Grace will follow along the same path as Tropical Storm Fred, and will reach Puerto Rico tomorrow.
Fred, meanwhile, remains disorganized and is still a tropical depression. It is dumping heavy rain over Cuba and the Florida Keys, where a tropical storm warning is currently in effect.
Fred is now expected to move over more open waters further into the Gulf of Mexico, and make landfall late Monday along the coast of Alabama or the Florida Panhandle.
