A warning for iPhone users, keep the pricey devices away from your pacemaker.
Over the weekend, Apple posted a notice on its support page warning users that iPhones contain magnets and radios that emit electromagnetic fields and they at least have the potential of interfering with medical devices like pacemakers and defibrillators.
The new iPhone 12 has more magnets than prior models, but Apple doesn't think there's any more risk in the newer devices.
Apple says keep your iPhone and MagSafe chargers a safe distance away from medical devices, which is only six-inches, or 15 when charging.
Health experts have long cautioned against holding cell phones too close to medical devices. For example, don't carry your phone in your shirt pocket if you have a heart implant.
Another warning. Don't put credit cards or security badges and passports near the iPhone 12 or chargers because the magnetic fields could damage magnetic strips and RFID chips.
