One of Miami-Dade County's largest employers is cutting thousands of jobs.
American Airlines announced yesterday it will eliminate over 40,000 jobs, including the layoffs of almost 9,000 flight attendants and pilots.
The airline employs over 13,000 people at Miami International Airport, but it's not clear how many local employees will be affected.
One MIA employee tells Local 10 News this will also have a ripple effect on hotel workers, van drivers, airport food vendors and others.
