Parents Reluctant to Return to Theme Parks

Are you ready to return to a Central Florida theme park?

Survey says, "No!"

And it's overwhelming.

A poll by Morning Consult and The Hollywood Reporter finds 78% of parents say it's too soon to return to any theme park this summer.

About one-in-four parents said they'd try going to Disney World or Universal Orlando. SeaWorld was at 23% and Legoland was just 18%.

Summer 2021 looks more promising for the theme park industry, with more than twice as many (47 percent) saying they’d consider going to an amusement park then.

According to Morning Consult:

Forty-five percent said limiting the number of patrons in the park would make them more likely to go, while 39 percent said the same of requiring masks and enforcing social distancing in lines. However, roughly one-third of parents said reducing park capacity or requiring masks would make them neither more nor less likely to go back to a theme park.

Disney announced last week that it was cutting back the operating hours of its four Orlando theme parks. It is still limiting the number of guests and requiring reservations for all visitors.
