MTV's VMA's DOA in Ratings

MTV's Video Music Awards had Taylor Swift, Missy Elliott, Lizzo, and the Jonas Brothers. What it didn't have was an audience.

Monday's telecast drew 1.9-million viewers and a 0.9 rating among the valuable 18-49-year-old demographic. That's down roughly 14% from last year. The broadcast has set ratings lows in each of the last three years.

In addition to being broadcast on MTV, 11 other Viacom channels aired the telecast, including VHI, BET, and Comedy Central bringing total viewership to 4.9-million, also down 6% from last year.
