I’m conditioned and prepared for endless absurdity being promised to voters as Democrats compete for oxygen in a very crowded room. As such, I’m not going to use constructive time and breath digging into every one of the less-than-viable ideas advanced. But there was something that jumped out at me from Bernie Sanders from Tuesday night’s debate that’s too serious to let go by without critical consideration.
It was this statement: “If a mother and a child walk thousands of miles on a dangerous path, in my view, they are not criminals.”
That’s got to be an all-time top three most dangerous statement I've heard by a Presidential candidate. Every terrorist organization must be pulling for Bernie. Why? According to the United Nations report on “radicalization” in April, anywhere from 13%-17% of recruited terrorists around the world are women and children are involved in approximately 6%-8% of terrorist attacks. Bernie Sanders is suggesting that if you come to our southern border having the appearance of completed a long trek, you’re not a criminal and we should allow access to you and your terror network.
No, I don’t want to hear that's not what he meant or whatever. No, I don’t think he intentionally wants terrorists in this country but yes, in the name of politics he is willing to fight like hell to create the perfect scenario for them. Now, this is truly crazy. It’s important to reset and realize that once again there’s only one actual requirement of our federal government as laid out at the timing of our founding. Protection. That’s it. Everything else is arbitrary. Increasingly, be it Bernie or insert another open-borders' politician here, it’s the one thing they refuse to take seriously.
