Florida teachers can't strike or sick out, so they're having a walk-in today demanding state lawmakers give more money to public education. Teachers are trying to pressure Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature to increase per-student funding by 10-percent, equally 743-dollars per student. Florida currently ranks 42nd for per-pupil spending and 46th for teaching pay. The teachers want lawmakers to adopt the Senate's budget which would add 1.1-billion in education funding or 350-per student, the House budget would increase funding by 600-million.
