Football season is still months away, but fans can rub shoulders with players, managers and team legends tomorrow morning, and it's all for a good cause.
The Dolphins Cancer Challenge, which has already raised more than $27.5-million for the University of Miami's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, is back for its ninth year.
This year's goal is to collect more than $6-million more.
DCC Chair Eric Pfeil says with five bike routes, ranging in distance from 100 to 14 miles, and the 5K run/walk, all which share the same Hard Rock Stadium finish line, there's something for everyone. "You'll see a lot of people pushing strollers, and getting their kids involved at the young age of six months, all the way up to 92-years-old."
The five bike courses push off as far away as Boca Raton and Coral Gables. The 100 mile ride begins and ends at Hard Rock Stadium.
People of all ages and sizes participate, including former and current players. The offensive line even lines up. Pfeil stresses, "When you see these 300 pound men getting on a kind of road bike, it really is amazing to see."
The Dolphins Cancer Challenge is the largest charity event in the NFL.
