There’s still a lot of confusion about the whole medical marijuana thing and for good reason. It’s complicated. For starters, it's federally illegal. Details, right? Speaking of details here’s what the soon-to-be Florida law dictates for smokable medical marijuana.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (unless terminally ill)
- 35-day supply will be allowed per recommendation/visit to a licensed physician.
- Can’t exceed 2.5 ounces without clearance for the Florida Department of Health.
- Must be obtained through the state sanctioned program.
- Can’t be smoked in public.
So, don’t buy the street product and you’re good to go. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out and how many patients choose to travel down the smokable path once its state sanctioned. In the state that brought about the landmark case against the tobacco companies,you don’t need me to be the one to tell you that smoking anything isn’t good for you. I guess we’re just counting on checking out before the issues associated with smoking cause a whole new set of problems that the medical establishment would need to address. But then again, we’ve got that going on with opioids as well.
There’s something about doctors recommending smoking marijuana that strikes me as the 2019 version of doctors in the 40’s and 50’s recommending their favorite brand of cigarettes in ads.
