Here are some of the notable developments from the second day of the Florida’s session. Let's start with what the Senate committee passed locally. The committee approved the expanded Miami-Dade needle-exchange program.
At the state level, the committee gave thumbs up for the expanded Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (voucher program) and overhaul of the teacher bonus program. The House sub-committee passed an overhaul of “pain and suffering” judgments capping awards at $1 million per person. Lastly, the Senate committee endorsed a proposal to create a state regulated industrial hemp program
