Florida is preparing a ban to stop fishermen from dumping bloody fish guts along the state's beaches to lure sharks.
The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission planned to meet February 20th to finalize a ban on "chumming" when fishing for any species in the Sunshine State.
The known technique to fisherman involves scattering blood, oil and pieces of ground-up fish to lure predators to a baited hook.
Board members also want shark fishermen to use non-stainless steel circle hooks and release some species immediately without taking them out of the water.
All the new rules would take effect July 1st.
