South Florida's largest food bank is turning its focus to federal employees not getting paid amid the government shutdown.
Feeding South Florida is opening the doors of its Pembroke Park and Boynton Beach centers to any person with a federal ID.
Executive Vice President Sari Vatske says they're also, "increasing our distribution to ports and airports where federal employees are working."
The majority currently accepting their help are TSA workers and Coast Guard members, but she adds there are also federal courthouse and prison employees.
In order to get the additional food through the warehouses faster, Feeding South Florida is holding a special volunteer drive tonight from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.. With Monday being Martin Luther King Day of Service, there are also volunteer opportunities available.
