Florida Lawmaker Proposes "Heartbeat Bill"

 (Tallahassee, FL)  --  The Florida House will hear a bill that would criminalize abortions performed once a fetal heartbeat is detected.  Republican Representative Mike Hill brought forward the proposal.  It would make it a third-degree felony to perform an abortion if there is a detectable fetal heartbeat.  Currently abortions can be performed up to 24 weeks in Florida.
