The bicycle accident that killed a 14-year-old boy last night wasn't a hit-and-run after all. Apparently he died after crashing his bicycle.
According to Pembroke Pines police, there was no car that hit Bora Duz in the 1900 block of Northwest 196th Avenue. Detectives say medical evidence confirms that the teen wasn't hit by a car.
Police issuing a statement reading in part, "No other contributing factors beyond the juvenile, and his bicycle, are affiliated with the incident. The matter is considered a single vehicle (bicycle) crash which resulted in an unintended fatality."
Duz was a student at Silver Trail Middle School.
