The man who brutally stabbed and killed a court clerk in her North Miami apartment will be executed tonight at Florida State Prison near Starke.
Jose Antonio Jimenez is scheduled to get a lethal injection for the 1992 murder of Phyllis Minas.
The 63-year-old woman had just come home to her apartment on Northeast Sixth Avenue when she was murdered by the man who lived upstairs.
After Jimenez was convicted, he later pleaded guilty to a second murder, the 1990 slaying of Marie Debas in Miami Beach.
The execution is scheduled for 6-pm
