A 5-year-old girl and a man were killed in Davie on Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle, police said.
The crash took place near the 6600 block of Griffin Road shortly before 7:30 p.m.
According to police, 46-year-old Carlos Amaya was walking with two young girls in a designated crosswalk when they were struck by a 2011 Cadillac CTS traveling eastbound.
Amaya and one of the girls was killed at the scene while the second child, a 2-year-old, sustained a laceration to her head and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Officials say the crosswalk has a traffic light but did not confirm if the driver had a green light at the time of the crash.
