Child Dies Of Flu In Florida - First Fatality Of FL's Flu Season

The first fatality of Florida's annual flu season is a child.

The Department of Health will only say that the unidentified child contracted influenza B and died between September 30th and October 6th.

The child's hometown was not made public but the state did say they were not vaccinated but otherwise healthy.

In South Florida, flu activity is classified as "mild."

Doctors say there is an ample supply of the flu vaccine available across the area.
