A new study shows that political candidates in Florida are just like the rest of us, owing huge amounts of student loan debt.
The Sun-Sentinel totaled up all the student loans owed by 243 major party candidates running for the legislature and statewide offices and found a combined debt of 3.8-million-dollars.
Republican Representative Danny Burgess, whose district is northeast of Tampa, owes the most with 287-thousand-dollars in student loans.
The 32-year-old attorney got his law degree back in 2011.
