Florida Governor Rick Scott is disputing U.S. Senator Bill Nelson's assertion that the state's election systems have been hacked by the Russians.
In a letter sent to local elections supervisors on Wednesday, he did not mention Nelson by name, but referred to what he called "unsubstantiated claims" that Russians have already penetrated certain counties.
Scott said the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have assured the state there is no evidence of election hacking.
The Republican governor is challenging the Democrat Nelson's bid for re-election.
