Scuba divers will soon have a new place to explore off Fort Lauderdale Beach.
The John Michael Baker Memorial Reef is set to be deployed on Tuesday, about a mile off the coast in 70 feet of water.
About a dozen slabs of concrete will make up the reef.
Two of them will have plaques commemorating the life of St. Thomas Aquinas High's John Michael Baker who died in a boating accident in 2015.
