Candidate Inspired By Son's FL Murder, Parkland Shooting Wins GA Primary

After winning the democratic primary for Georgia's 7th congressional district, Lucy McBath called her late teen son Jordan Davis her "rock and inspiration" throughout the race.

Davis was shot dead in Florida.

McBath has previously said she was spurred to advocacy Jordan was shot dead at a Florida gas station by a white man complaining about loud music.

She said she was inspired to run for Congress after this year's school shooting in Parkland Florida, where 17 people were killed, most of them teens.

McBath will face Republican incumbent Karen Handel in November's general election.
