Fort Lauderdale Hit & Run Injures Father, 2 Kids - Driver At Large

Authorities in Fort Lauderdale are investigating a Wednesday hit-and-run collision involving multiple vehicles and pedestrians.

Officials responded to the scene along Las Olas Boulevard and A1A around 7 PM.

According to police, the driver of a white BMW struck three pedestrians in the area before abandoning his vehicle and taking off on foot.

Police transported a father and his two children, estimated to be about 4- and 5-years-old to Broward Health Medical Center. The victims' conditions remain unknown.

Witnesses told investigators that the driver took off, going west on Las Olas Boulevard and turning the wrong way onto a one-way street, hitting a car and the front of a city bus.

According to officials, the driver eventually fled on foot. No word yet on if his vehicle has been recovered.

Fort Lauderdale Police are actively searching the area for the driver, who was described as a black male.
