At least one American tourist is dead and 10 other people are injured after a tour boat exploded in the Bahamas over the weekend.
Royal Bahamas Police say the 40-foot chartered boat was carrying 10 tourists and two Bahamians in waters off Barraterre island in the Exuma Cays on Saturday morning when an engine exploded, setting the boat on fire.
A Bahamian government official said an American woman was killed. Four other Americans were airlifted to a hospital in Florida.
The U.S. Coast Guard says the others are being treated at a hospital in Nassau.
The cause of the incident is under investigation by the Exuma branch of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
