House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says Democrats are ready to work with Republicans on creating a meaningful, comprehensive immigration reform.
President Trump often accuses Dems of not being willing to negotiate on immigration.
Two Republican immigration bills were resoundingly defeated in the past week and Pelosi called them very bad bills. She has also criticized the now-former policy of separating migrant children from their parents at the southern border.
President Trump ended the policy with an executive order last week but Democrats say too many kids are still separated from their parents.
Trump is insisting on billions of dollars for a massive border wall.
Pelosi noted that Trump repeatedly said Mexico would pay for the wall when he was running for president.
Democrats are insisting on long-term protections for Dreamers.
