South FL Band New Found Glory Headlining MSD Benefit Concert Wed. Night

A band native to South Florida, with graduates right from Marjory Stoneman Dougals High in Parkland, will be headlining a benefit concert Wednesday night to benefit victims of the Feb. 14 shooting massacre at MSD and their families.

Titled #ParklandStrong, New Found Glory will take the stage at 6 p.m. at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater. Doors will be opening an hour before the show.

All proceeds – including ticket sales, concessions, merchandise and sponsorships – will go to the official Broward Education Foundation fund to help the families of the 17 people killed in the horrific shooting, along with those who were injured and at the school during the tragedy.

The event hits home for several members of the band, who graduated from MSD in the 1990s and formed the group while students at the school and residents of Broward County.

Two other acts will also be performing ahead of the headlining act – Boca Raton native Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional and Ryan Key, formerly of the Jacksonville based alternative rock band Yellowcard.
