County commissioners are considering an idea to move School Buses onto the busway...
Chairman Esteban Bovo JR says the idea would free up traffic for drivers on US 1, which the busway parallels from Dadeland to Florida City.
The county is also considering working with the school district to change school start times in an effort to free up the roadways during rush hour.
That idea stems from a study that showed nearly 30% less traffic during rush hour in the summer when school isn't in session.
Bovo says the county will need to have additional conversations with traffic and school board officials before anything could become a reality.
