City of Miami Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Allapattah.
Authorities say surveillance cameras caught a car as it crashed into a fence just feet away from two homes. Moments after the impact, residents in the area of Northwest 22nd Avenue and 30th Street ran outside to help the victims.
That's where, according to police, witnesses realized that the victim of the crash had been shot in the chest by a gunman.
That man, 24-year-old Francisco Martinez, Jr. died at the hospital. Detectives said Martinez tried to rob three people on Northwest 22nd Avenue and 28th Street when he was shot and killed.
Police said no one is in custody at this time and they aren’t searching for any additional suspects, however the investigation is still ongoing.
