The justices issued the ruling today in the case of a driver who received a ticket in Aventura.
His attorney tried to argue the validity of the citation program because a third-party reviews all the red camera photos and then passes them on to the police department to determine if a ticket is warranted.
The high court ruling supersedes conflicting appeals court decisions.
