The University of Miami is reportedly hoping to keep its head football coach around for a long time.
News outlets report that the U is talking to Coach Mark Richt about an extension of his current contract, which is believed to be a six-year deal at $4 million per-year.
In just his second season as Hurricanes head coach, Richt took the Hurricanes to the ACC Championship Game. The Hurricanes have improved each year on and off the field in the Richt era.
He was also named ACC Coach of the Year, the first Miami coach to be so honored.
