Florida Issues New Abortion Rules After 6-Week Ban Takes Effect

The day after Florida's six-week abortion ban takes effect, the state Agency for Health Care issues two emergency rules applying to women whose water breaks prematurely and ectopic pregnancies. The new rules say it "does not constitute an abortion" if doctors try to induce live births. Kim Guzman with A Woman's Center in Hollywood says the state needs to take other circumstances into consideration, like if a woman gets cancer during pregnancy and has to start chemotherapy which could impact the fetus. Florida's 6-week ban has exemptions for victims of rape, incest and human trafficking.
