Florida Duo Charged For Stealing $5K Of Downed Power Lines

A Florida man and woman were arrested Saturday after authorities say they tried to steal nearly $5,000 worth of power lines that had been knocked down during Hurricane Irma.

Altamonte Springs residents 41-year-old Charles Mahoy and 45-year-old Andrea Foster are now facing charges of larceny during a state of emergency, criminal mischief and drug possession.

The Seminole County Sheriffā€™s Office says a man had called to report two people cutting downed power lines. 

Deputies responded and found the power lines in the back of the duoā€™s truck. Deputies also found marijuana and methamphetamine in their car, according to an arrest report.
