Legalizing same-sex marriage would have a $182 million impact on Florida's economy over the next three years.
That's according to a new study by UCLA's Williams Institute.
The study shows gay couples would spend nearly $140 million on wedding expenses. Out-of-state wedding guests would spend more than $42 million during their stay in Florida.
Legalizing gay marriage equality would create 875 to 2,626 jobs in Florida, according to the study.
The increased wedding spending would add up to $12 million in sales tax revenue.
The study limited its scope to just the 24,248 gay couples who live in Florida and doesn't take into account the many same-sex couples who would likely flock to Florida to get married.
