South Florida Gas Prices Up Only Slightly Going Into July 4th Weekend
Posted June 30th, 2014 @ 11:44am

South Florida gas prices are pretty stable.

Drivers are paying an average of $3.68 a gallon, right in line with national numbers.

That is up one cent in the last week, two cents from a month ago, but it is also much higher than the $3.50 that was the average price at the pump at the same time last year.

GasBuddy.com Florida analyst Greg Laskoski says there could be a slight increase going into the 4th of July weekend.

Laskoski says the situation in Iraq has cooled a bit, so that's keeping things steady.

The prediction is that if the situation remains calm and hurricane season continues to be quiet, motorists will continue to see a slow decline in prices.

This week's prices, though, are the highest for Independence Day since July 2008.
