South Florida drivers can expect an increase in traffic as hundreds of thousands of students head back to school across South Florida.
Broward Sheriff Scott Israel says, after a summer break from school zones, it's time to pay extra attention.
"The greatest danger to our kids is the distracted driver. Don't text, don't speed, and pay attention. I have ordered increased patrols at all our schools," Israel said on WIOD's South Florida's First News.
