Former Miami Representative David Rivera has reportedly suspended his congressional campaign.

Rivera has reportedly cited a ruling that invalidates Florida's congressional district map as the reason for his withdrawal from the campaign.

But, the move comes amid a federal investigation into Rivera's previous campaign.

One of his associates, Justin Lamar Sternad, was sentenced to prison earlier this week for campaign finance violations in connection to the investigation.

Another is still set to go to trial.

Rivera has maintained his innocence.

Meanwhile, an appeal is expected in the judicial ruling regarding the congressional maps.
