The wheels are in motion to remove Donald Sterling as owner of the L-A Clippers.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banning Sterling from any NBA related activities for life, and is urging owners to force Sterling to sell the team.

Harvard Sports Law Expert Rick Horrow says there needs to be a three-fourths majority vote for that to happen.

Several owners including Miami Heat owner Mickey Arison have publicly spoken out against Sterling.

The Commissioner says he's confident he will find the 23 votes necessary to force a sale.

Sterling was also fined the league maximum $2.5 Million.


The NBA drops the hammer on L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling over his alleged racist comments made to his girlfriend.

A News conference with NBA commissioner Adam Silver getting underway Tuesday afternoon.

Silver announcing he has banned Sterling from the NBA for life, which includes any association with the Clippers.

Silver says their independent investigation determined the voice on the recordings was in fact Sterling, and was not altered. Silver adding that Sterling admitted to him it was his voice.

Silver calling Sterling's views "deeply offensive and harmful."

As per the commissioner's ruling, Sterling may not attend games, practices, or be present in any Clippers facility. He must also not participate in any business or player personnel decisions.

Silver also says they will seek the sale of the team.

Sterling was also fined the league maximum $2.5 Million.
