Thousands will be out on the waters of south Florida this weekend celebrating Labor Day and Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez wants to make sure everyone is doing so safely.

Gimenez says there have been 7 deaths on the waters so far this year and that they want to prevent accidents from occurring.

The legal blood alcohol limit for boaters is .08 and a multi-agency task force will be out making sure everyone is abiding by the law.

The task force includes the U.S. Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and local police agencies.
