Miami-Dade Commissioners Consider Library Funding

Miami-Dade Commissioners Consider Library Funding
Posted September 4th, 2014 @ 12:00pm

Library supporters will be out in full force at today's Miami-Dade budget meeting, hoping to secure $54 million in funding for the county's public libraries.

That would constitute a $4 million funding increase for libraries, which would come from a higher library tax endorsed by the county commission last month.

Mayor Carlos Gimenez recently agreed to keep more libraries open longer and increase services.

A final budget vote takes place on September 18.
