The Miami Marlins knocking it out of the park when it comes to environmental awareness.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is going to be awarding the baseball team with its Recycling Recognition Award.

DEP spokesperson John Price says the team is exceeding its state mandated recycling rate.

"Commercial recycling rate for the state of Florida is 45%," says Price, "So they're actually exceeding the rate."

The Marlins also recognized as the 2013 N-L East Division Green Globe Award for their recycling contributions.

Today's award will be presented before Wednesday afternoon's game against the Nationals.
