More than 60,000 children end up in emergency rooms each year from medicine poisoning.

That's 165 kids per day.

Janice Williams with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) PROTECT Initiative says the accidental intakes are often from medicines that belong to parents or grandparents and are left within reach.

Williams says caregivers should keep all medicines and vitamins "Up and Away and Out of Sight."
