Early voting for the August 26th primary is underway across south Florida, but turnout has been light.

Less than 16-hundred people cast ballots in Broward on Friday, the first day people could head to the polls.

Miami-Dade opened early voting on the 11th and about 85-hundred went to the polls during the first 5 days of voting in the county.

The totals represent less than a half a percent of the more than 2.3-million registered in the two counties.

Early voting wraps up August 24th.
