The Miami-Dade School Board will get a look Wednesday at the assessment calendar for the school year.
There is lots of concern over the amount of testing, since out of the 180-day calendar, there are but eight days without some sort of assessment scheduled.
But, Assessment Director Gisela Feild says not every student takes every test, and it is really often an issue of a large testing window of many days to accommodate many students.
Still, Lee County recently opted out of state-mandated testing over concerns that there were too many assessments required..
But, the board there reversed the decision, because students would otherwise not be able to receive diplomas.
