School is back in full swing in South Florida, and, with that, there are new concerns about the safety of children walking to and from schools.

A new report shows, each year, 100 children are killed and 25,000 are injured walking to and from school.

According to the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services, nearly 76,000 vehicles passed buses illegally on a daily basis in 2014, making that the biggest problem.

The organization says blatant disobedience of school bus laws poses a major dangerous threat to children.

Studies also show two-thirds of drivers are speeding through school zones.

And, one in six are distracted as they pass through school zones.
