The annual Governor's Hurricane Conference starts today (mo) amid growing concern by weather officials that the general public has gotten used to not having storm problems.

Dennis Feltgen of the National Hurricane Center says we've not only grown complacent, but are actually in denial because its been 8 years since we've had a major storm roll through (Wilma, 2006).

Feltgin says the two major things to do are get your hurricane supplies in early - whether you think you'll need them or not - and to know what to do if you're in a evacuation zone.

We've got more information at the Florida Emergency Management site.
