The State of Florida wants to make sure you get prepared for the storm season.
Going on now through Sunday, June 8th, is the state's Hurricane Supplies Sales Tax Holiday.
Qualifying items are exempt from tax during this week.
Paris Lytle with Lowe's Home Improvement says customers can take advantage of deals for their hurricane emergency kits.
"It's a great time to go ahead and get that preparedness for your family and make sure that all of those items there are gathered together," said Lytle.
Lytle says he thinks the importance of the preparedness message seems to be getting across to South Florida, because more people are taking advantage of the tax holiday this year.
During the state's holiday, qualifying items related to hurricane preparedness are exempt from sales tax, making storm supplies more affordable.
