The State Department of Education released the first batch of 2014 Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test scores Friday.

For writing, the percentage of Florida’s students in grades 8 and 10 scoring at 3.5 and above was up 2 percentage points compared to last year.

But, fewer 4th graders performed at acceptable levels this year.

It's a mixed bag of results in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties.
