The State of Florida announced a partnership with paramedics and emergency room doctors and nurses in the fight against human trafficking.

Attorney General Pam Bondi says it was the workers' idea.

Bondi made the announcement about the initiative at an Orlando hospital, saying emergency personnel said they know they are encountering victims in their work setting but need help in identifying victims.

The new plan will train emergency room nurses and doctors as well as well as paramedics to ask certain questions of people who show signs of being trafficked.

Florida ranks third in the nation for the number of calls to trafficking hotlines.
