Early voting for tomorrow's primary election is over in Miami-Dade and Broward counties

Nearly 30,000 people turned out to vote early in Miami-Dade. More than 15,000 did so in Broward. Add that to the amount of absentee ballots mailed in early and voter turnout comes out to less than 20 percent.

That's par for the course in primary elections that don't have presidential or Senate races on the ballot.

Miami-Dade did see its best turnout of the two-week early voting period yesterday, largely thanks to African-American churches urging their congregations to vote after service in what's known as "souls to the polls."
