The summer driving season is officially underway this weekend.
And, tire expert Dan Zielinski, with the Rubber Manufacturers Association says it's important to keep your car safe by maintaining the tires properly.
The first line of defense is checking for the proper inflation.
Properly inflated tires can save 11 cents per gallon at the pump and help tires last longer.
Check your tread depth for safety, too.
Zielinski says it's important to also check for punctures, cuts, and bulges before hitting the road.
