Back to school Monday means it's also time to get kids' brains back in gear.

Getting and keeping children's brains sharp as school gets started this week is a top concern for a lot of parents.

Education specialist Jesse Payne says there are a few simple things everyone can do to get the brain working better.

These include getting rid of negative thoughts, eating right, and exercise are all important.

Payne also says parents and teachers need to be careful to outline expectations that don't put too much pressure on young students whose brains are not yet fully developed.
